Fibrele vegetale pot proteja ficatul de boala metabolică, arată studiul UC Irvine

Cercetătorii de la Universitatea California, Irvine au descoperit că un aport mai mare de fibre vegetale ar putea preveni şi chiar inversa boala hepatică asociată disfuncţiei metabolice, cunoscută anterior ca boala ficatului gras non-alcoolic. Această descoperire reprezintă o strategie simplă și eficientă pentru sănătatea ficatului.

Studiul evidenţiază că o fibră naturală, regăsită în multe legume, are rolul de a modifica compoziţia bacteriilor intestinale. Această modificare protejează organul vital de efectele dăunătoare ale fructozei, un zahăr des întâlnit în dieta contemporană și asociat cu probleme hepatice.

O astfel de schimbare în microbiota intestinală ajută la reducerea impactului negativ pe care îl are fructoza asupra ficatului, contribuind la menţinerea sănătăţii metabolice. Cercetarea aduce lumină asupra posibilităţii de a folosi alimentația ca intervenție pentru MASLD.
